Through the ‘Fogarty Round Tables’ initiatives a relationship has been built with the Fogarty Foundation, Roseworth Primary School, The Smith Family, Mission Australia, Edith Cowan University and The Community Development Foundation.

Benefits of  the Fogarty Foundation in being engaged in this partnership has been the opportunity to proactively participate in developing education, health and social welfare initiatives to meet areas of need within the school, staff, students and the wider community.

The Fogarty Foundation has worked closely with the Department of Education and Training and Edith Cowan University to develop, implement and enhance programs at Roseworth and assist with the extension of the Fogarty Learning Centre and development of the ECU Research Centre, currently under construction on the new Roseworth Primary School site.

The involvement of the Foundation at Roseworth School has helped to effect significant education change and stronger community relations that have led to: An improved facility for Roseworth and the community

  • Improved outcomes for Roseworth students
  • Opportunities for Roseworth students to have access to the expertise of ECU and its pre service teaching program to assist in the development of targeted programs to improve outcomes for the students
  • Opportunity to embed theory into practice to assist in ‘closing the gap’ experienced by disadvantaged schools
  • Improved attendance and participation
  • Improved literacy through one-on-one contact programs
  • Increased association and engagement of parents into the school environment through the Smith Family and Mission Australia
  • Access for parents to connect with on-site support for prevention and early intervention strategies
  • Providing a supportive environment for parents, teachers, students and the community

The relationship developed between The Fogarty Foundation and Roseworth Primary School has set in motion a number of initiatives to make a real difference for the staff, parents and students of Roseworth Primary School and the wider community.
