The Fogarty Foundation Success through Educational Excellence Scholarships and Prizes
In partnership with The University of Western Australia, Faculty of Education
Established in 2001 the Fogarty Foundation Success Through Educational Excellence Scholarships and Prizes have aimed to recognise the important role that education and teachers have in our community. The scholarships and prizes have provided support and encouragement for high achievers to enter the teaching profession; for teachers in the schools to be able to undertake postgraduate studies and to reward teachers for quality research.
In 2009-2010 the Foundation’s Educational Excellence program provided two prizes for:
• Graduate Diploma in Education.
• Best Piece of Research in the Doctor of Education program.
A total of 76 scholarships and 36 prizes have been awarded to date through this partnership.
In addition to the prizes, there were two other significant directions for this partnership. Firstly, investment from the Fogarty Foundation provided assistance for a research forum for postgraduate students to present their research and share ideas in a stimulating and supportive environment.
And secondly, support for an Early Childhood Education forum, opened by the Minister for Education, welcomed a diverse group of 180 participants to engage in group discussions, round table sessions and connect with panel speakers.
