Learning for Life Plus

In partnership with The Smith Family

The Fogarty Foundation has been supporting The Smith Family’s Learning for Life PLUS program since June 2003.

Learning for Life PLUS provides additional financial support towards students’ unexpected expenses associated with training, high achievement and special needs.

Each year, the Fogarty Foundation enables talented young people from around the state to develop their skills and abilities through the program by making it possible for students from low income families to access enriched opportunities for learning and development.

The Smith Family’s “Learning for Life PLUS” program provides additional financial support towards disadvantaged students’ unexpected educational expenses. Each year, the Fogarty Foundation empowers talented young people from around the state to develop their skills and abilities through the program by making it possible for students from low income families to access enriched opportunities for education, learning and development.

The impact on motivation, self-esteem and social skills through participating in these activities has brought profound benefits in determining the directions, aspirations, and opportunities for young people.

In 2009-2010, the Fogarty Foundation nurtured the talent of 24 young West Australians, through funding for their special area of interest and high achievement in academia and the arts.

Additional opportunities were provided for a number of students to develop their leadership skills through participation in experiential outdoor education programs, and for others to compete in state, national and international sporting events.

The Fogarty Foundation’s investment in the Learning for Life PLUS program over the past seven years has enabled over 330 students to benefit from opportunities.
