On Monday 27 May, the UWA Fogarty Scholars had the opportunity to speak with Sir Bob Geldof at the University Club.

In a whirlwind Q&A session, the Scholars asked a variety of burning questions about a range of topics, particularly relating to his visit to Western Australia and Australia’s relationship with the rest of the world.

For Bharath Iyer, President of the Fogarty Scholars’ Association, ‘meeting the near mythical musician, philanthropist and political activist provided a unique perspective on company culture, the currency of celebrity status, international issues and, of course, rock and roll’.

As expected, the discussion was honest and frank, and fascinating for all who attended.
