Transforming potential into purpose
Fogarty Ripple is the Fogarty Foundation’s flagship leadership and enterprise accelerator for Western Australia’s highest achieving, high potential university students. Launched in 2025, Fogarty Ripple supports participants across their undergraduate years to build the self-leadership, enterprise capability, and systems literacy needed to create meaningful social and economic impact anchored in WA.Â
Structured across three developmental programs, Leadership Foundations, Horizons and Legacy, the program combines leadership identity development, exposure to innovation and emerging technologies, and practical pathways for students to design and deliver real world impact initiatives.

Fogarty Ripple at UWAÂ
Piloted at UWA in 2025, the Fogarty Ripple program expanded in 2026 to engage over 80 UWA students. The program is structured around intensive bootcamps and fireside sessions, culminating in Ripple Roots; a self-led project in which participants develop and deliver solutions for high school students.Â
Leadership Horizons participants explore three accelerator themes: career, enterprise and innovation, and global perspectives, with access to the Expand Fund to pursue opportunities that extend their learning. Sessions have featured prominent guest speakers, including Grant Dusting, Director of Strategy at McCrindle, who led a session on thinking like a futurist.Â
The Expand Fund
The Fogarty Ripple Expand Fund is a strategic initiative designed to strengthen enterprise, technology and innovation capabilities among Fogarty Ripple participants.
The Fund aims to encourage participants to explore future-focused opportunities they may not otherwise consider, broaden their understanding of innovation within their chosen study pathways, and build confidence to think entrepreneurially. By reducing financial barriers, the Expand Fund enables Scholars to engage in high-impact experiences that develop practical skills, professional networks and innovative mindsets. It also supports knowledge sharing across the Ripple cohort, with Scholars contributing learnings back to the community to inspire peers and create a broader ripple effect.
