Next Generation Leaders

Empowering, extending, and creating opportunities for high-potential young people who demonstrate ambition, curiosity, and a drive to make a difference.

Why young leaders?

Over 20 years ago, we identified that too many high-achieving young people leave Western Australia to study and develop their careers elsewhere, reducing the state's cohort of emerging leaders and limiting the networks of talent that drive innovation. To address this, we invest in identifying and nurturing young leaders here; developing initiatives like Fogarty Ripple so they can grow, connect and contribute within Western Australia. By building clusters of high-potential individuals and supporting their development locally, we strengthen the state's leadership pipeline and create conditions where talent multiplies rather than disperses.

We support the next generation of changemakers by identifying and nurturing their talent. This is done by connecting young people with networks and opportunities, fostering collaborative learning environments. Through this support, we help them build skills, confidence, and vision to drive positive change. These high-potential individuals are equipped not just to achieve personal success, but to influence the communities they are part of and contribute to a more prosperous WA.

Investing in people and enabling their growth is a vital aspect of the Next Generation Leaders pillar. This work generates a ripple effect of leadership, innovation, and opportunity, creating a lasting, scalable impact that benefits society as a whole.

“I truly believe I would be a different person today if it was not for the leadership opportunities and learning experiences that Fogarty has offered me, and I certainly would not have had the self belief to apply for future Scholarships such as this one I have now received”.
