The UWA Fogarty Scholarship provides $12,500 annually for up to 16 semesters of undergraduate and postgraduate studies at UWA. It is a joint venture between the Fogarty Foundation and the University of Western Australia investing in the future leaders of our state.

This prestigious Scholarship covers the full duration of a Scholar’s undergraduate and postgraduate education, complemented by an exceptional enrichment component featuring a bespoke leadership program. Additionally, Scholars benefit from academic mentoring, access to an enterprise investment program, and the opportunity to connect with a vast network of talented peers.

What UWA Fogarty Scholars Receive; a value beyond dollars
The UWA Fogarty Scholarship provides $12,500 annually for up to 16 semesters of undergraduate and postgraduate studies at UWA. Scholars also gain access to an Enrichment Fund, offering unique opportunities to enhance their journey:
- Jeremy Cheang Award: $2,000 annually to one Scholar, celebrating exceptional innovation, achievements, or community contributions.
- Initiative Funding: Grants of up to $2,000 for projects or ventures aligned with the Foundation's mission, such as Teach Learn Grow or Bloom.
- UWA Global Learning Grant: Up to $1,500 for travel funding to support exchange programs or summer opportunities.
The UWA Fogarty Scholarship offers a bespoke Leadership and Enterprise Program, providing access to prominent West Australians and exceptional opportunities to foster leadership, innovation, and impact. Scholars also benefit from industry networking, exclusive events, mentoring, and initiative funding for their projects.
10 hours of mentoring in the first two years, guided by UWA academics and peers.
Yes, Fogarty Scholars can live on campus. In their first year, Scholars receive a 50% fee reduction for studio accommodation at St Catherine’s College, with all meals included.
The Scholarship connects you to a network of accomplished scholars, industry professionals, and exclusive opportunities to enhance your personal and professional growth.
The Scholars Portal is a digital platform that supports both current Scholars and Alumni, providing access to opportunities, resources, and networking. It also lists all events, allowing you to RSVP directly through the portal.
As a UWA Fogarty Scholar, you have access to a range of opportunities, including the chance to apply for a $40,000 postgraduate scholarship to study at ANU.
The Fogarty Scholars' Association (FSA) is a key hub for all UWA Fogarty Scholars. As a dynamic, student-run organisation, the FSA is committed to strengthening the bonds among its members, promoting collaboration, and amplifying the collective impact of the UWA Fogarty Scholars. The FSA operates in close partnership with the Foundation to empower Scholars to make a positive impact in society.
