Next Generation Leaders

Empowering, extending, and creating opportunities for high-achieving, high-potential people is at the heart of the Fogarty Foundation’s commitment to excellence. We believe that by supporting talent and high-quality endeavours, we can create a wide-reaching and long-lasting impact. By providing opportunities to high-potential individuals, we empower and inspire the next generation of changemakers—those with the passion, vision, and drive to bring about positive transformations in society. Through this support, we help them thrive, ultimately contributing to a prosperous world for all.

Excellent Teaching for All Students

Inspiring excellence and high-quality instruction is central to the Fogarty Foundation’s mission, which focuses on investing in teachers, school leaders, and principals to ensure all students receive a high-quality education. We are committed to supporting educators and school leaders in Western Australia, helping them guide students to reach their full potential. Educators are the architects of knowledge, and we aim to provide them with the support, resources, and connections needed to thrive in an ever-evolving educational landscape. The Foundation also drives innovative solutions, including the integration of technology in classrooms, to improve educational outcomes in an increasingly digital world.

  • Fogarty EDvance, launched in 2012 by the Fogarty Foundation and now run by Knowledge Society, drives school improvement in WA's low-SES areas. The Foundation remains actively involved, supporting leadership development and working with schools to improve student outcomes and ensure access to quality education for all children, regardless of postcode.

Future Ready Students

Catalysing innovation in education is essential to ensure that today’s students are equipped with the skills needed for the future. In our rapidly changing world, students and educators must develop a wide range of competencies, including critical and creative thinking, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and digital literacy.

Technology has the potential to enhance the learning process, boosting engagement and opening new avenues for exploration. Experiential learning allows students to apply their knowledge in practical ways, deepening their understanding of the world around them. Creativity is also a vital skill in today’s workforce.

Educators must continuously adapt their methods to stay at the forefront of educational best practices. By fostering a growth mindset and a commitment to lifelong learning, both educators and students will develop the resilience and capabilities needed to thrive in an ever-changing, technology-driven world.

  • At The Fogarty Foundation, we believe that learning about the wonders of the universe can ignite young people’s passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), encouraging them to dream big and think creatively.

  • The Foundation funds access to the Perkins Profs Intensive Program at the Harry Perkins Institute, offering students from low socio-economic backgrounds the opportunity to engage in hands-on STEM experiences. This program allows students to immerse themselves in a real-world medical research environment, where they gain valuable skills and knowledge through practical laboratory work, seminars, and interactions with researchers, bioengineers, and science undergraduates. By connecting students with experts in the field, the program broadens their understanding of medical research and other STEM career pathways, inspiring them to pursue further studies and contribute to scientific advancements. The initiative helps bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, fostering curiosity and raising aspirations for future careers in STEM fields.
